This family-style restaurant was the first place I celebrated my transition with my family. Not only does it hold sentimental value to me but the food is amazing! We have been coming here for over 10 years and it’s better than ever! I always feel so at home here and the owners are the best. I highly recommend trying the house special chow fun dry as it’s my personal fave!

Oh how I love urth! It’s a place where I get to go and enjoy matcha while I get some work done! It’s honestly always so relaxing and vibrant, and this is probably the place I come to most often on my list. It’s just so quick and easy. If you’re in LA, there are multiple locations but my fave is the Downtown spot. Definitely try the chicken sandwich with vegan pesto—you won’t regret it!

The black cat was the site for a civil rights LGBTQ movement in the 60’s and it shows. Everyone is so friendly here and the food and drinks are amazing! I love to come here with friends and catch up with a drink and of course the chisme! When you’re here, you get to have a good time and get to be a part of LGBTQIA+ history! Definitely try their French fries. You won’t be disappointed!

As a Chicana, food is so important in our culture! This place is one of my favorite spots to eat with my family to connect and share. It’s always tasty and the prices are great as well! The energy is always right and your stomach will thank you! I highly recommend Los tacos de Abuela. You’ll fall in love!

One thing about me is I love sweet treats—they make me so happy! If you’re in LA, you have to try California doughnuts! It is honestly like a right of passage! JK! But seriously, the doughnuts here are out of this world! They are all so yummy and so fun! I recommend trying my personal favorite: the fruity pebble doughnut and a horchata iced coffee!

Although this is the most expensive location on my list, it really is so yummy! They offer a variety of food, and they all taste amazing! I personally love to come and brunch with my friends; you know, main character energy! We love to serve a look, take photos, and then of course, eat and celebrate life together! I love this place, and I think you will too. I recommend trying the ceviche—it’s so amazing!
