Gurton’s Plant Shop has been operated by the same family for seven generations and doesn’t show signs of slowing anytime soon. You’ll find a plethora of healthy plants to choose from, whether you’re in the market for classics like philodendrons and cactus or more exotic and unique species. With plenty of pots, soil and gardening supplies (the funky sheers deserve mention)to choose from, this is an easy one-stop-shop.

Visiting Cistus Nursery feels like stepping foot unto a tropical island and I don't need to tell you how essential that is during the winter months! Unlike the other Portland plant shops mentioned on this list, Cistus is a working nursery. You'll find plants spanning the gamut, everything from tiny house plants to fruit trees fit for an orchard. Not only is the plant selection well curated and expansive (fascinating, weird, hard-to-find varieties), but the staff is knowledgeable and warm.

Founded in 2001, Pistils Nursery is quite possibly the most instagramable plant shop in Portland. There’s two locations to choose from (N Mississippi and Slabtown), both locations are equally charming. Every nook and cranny is perfectly curated to show interesting plant species and beautiful pots. Solabee Flowers & Botanicals is a unique Portland plant shop, in the sense that it serves as both a floral studio and plant shop. Thankfully, they excel in both fields and Portland is lucky to have them. There's two beautiful locations (NW Portland and N Killingsworth) and both are chock-full of thriving plants and beautiful floral arrangements. You’ll be smitten the second you walk through the door, this is a Portland plant shop you won’t soon forget.
