Camila Cabello’s new album, C,XOXO, is inspired by Miami’s vibrant culture and her personal experiences growing up there. Curious about her favorite Miami spots? Here’s what Cabello recommends to experience some of the best Miami has to offer.
Less“I love Korean barbecue and this is, albeit a little bougie, my favorite Korean barbecue in Miami. Growing up in South Miami, I had never been to the Design District till last year, so I did not grow up eating in fancy restaurants—but this one is truly probably the best cuts of meat I have ever had in my life. Definitely get whatever they recommend, and come here when you have a big appetite and are celebrating something.”
“I love walking around Wynwood after dinner here. This is the best sushi in Miami and maybe that I’ve had ever. Get the Wagyu beef on the hot rocks, the sweet potato tempura, and honestly whatever your waiter recommends.”
“You have Miami’s best coffee and next door the best bookshop in Miami. I love being in Coconut Grove, getting an iced latte or matcha, and then treating myself to a new book next door. It’s one of my favorite neighborhoods in Miami—lots of dogs, cute restaurants and shops, and trees, so it doesn’t get too hot.”
“Miami’s healthy, delicious food scene is not as caught up as L.A.’s, but it’s slowly getting there, and this is one of my go-tos. It has so many healthy breakfast, brunch, and lunch options and is a cute place to go for lunch with a friend or solo lunch and bring a book. For breakfast, get overnight oats or the New Yorker. For lunch, Thai salad with chicken or the summer chicken bowl. Also consistently great coffee and matcha!”
“This is a Michelin Star Mexican restaurant, but you would never know it because it’s so unpretentious and low-key. It’s super-chill and in Coconut Grove, which gets super-beautiful and full of life at night. Their menu is Oaxacan food, and their corn tortillas are literally imported from there. The menu is seasonal and always changing, but get the duck mole and the al pastor tacos if they have them.”
“When the beach is too far and crowded, this is a nice place to go. I honestly don’t come here enough, but during COVID it was fun to bring my bike with a friend and then stop at the restaurant and have some food. They have lots of trees and a small beach.”
“This restaurant is so gorgeous, and Dave is a good friend of mine. His restaurants are so fun, and the food is always so good. I remember I went to the friends and family opening and had so much pasta, plus this lemon dessert they had that looked like a literal lemon! All the pasta here is incredible, and they have an outside area facing the ocean and skyline that is gorgeous.”
“This is my favorite pizza in the United States. It’s thin crust and perfectly made. My favorite is the Margherita and the one with coffee on it—yes, you heard right, coffee! It’s kind of spicy and has some honey on it. I could honestly eat two whole boxes by myself. I order this in, but I also like to go and have some wine and then have some salt and straw ice cream next door after!”
“After a night of partying or clubbing, or if you’re going to a family member’s house and want to bring something, I always get croquetas and Cuban pastelitos and pastries from this bakery. It’s a South Miami staple and open 24 hours! It’s very Cuban. The people who work here are very Cuban, and it reminds me the most of home.”
“This place is genius. It’s in Wynwood, and it’s basically several different types of Asian food. Almost like a food hall, there’s a sushi vendor, dumpling vendor, Chinese food vendor—so many yummy different types of Asian cuisine all in one spot. My friends and I will go and I’ll get sushi and dumplings and they’ll get orange chicken and bao buns, and we will all sample everything. They play hip-hop outside and it’s just the best vibe for a Friday night with your friends.”
