You'll want to pack some extra time during your next airport visit for a stop at one of American Express' Centurion Lounges. With curated food and beverage selections and thoughtfully designed spaces, you might forget you're relaxing in an airport.
LessCLT: This is Charlotte's best airport lounge. With a beautifully appointed space, delicious food and drinks, and a slew of amenities, you may not want to leave. Be sure to check out the multi-colored phone rooms and the airport views from the bar area.
IAH: Secluded in the international terminal, this hidden gem isn't the largest in Amex's network, but it's still worth a visit. With an impressive food line-up and hand-crafted cocktails, you won't regret making the trek.
LAS: The Las Vegas Centurion Lounge was Amex's first to open over eight years ago. It just got a fresh remodel and expansion, boosting capacity by nearly 50%. There are now additional multipurpose rooms, new private telephone booths, reimagined workspace areas and a redesigned reception area, pictured above.
LAX: The issuer's West Coast flagship lounge sports some unique amenities, such as sunrise and twilight rooms, as well as an Exhale spa. Coupled with delicious food and drinks, this beautifully designed space will make you forget that you’re sitting inside one of the busiest airports in the world.
MIA: Thank to its high ceilings, your eyes will immediately be drawn to the expansive tarmac views from the Centurion Lounge in Miami. With a spa, multiple seating areas and two full bars, you can't go wrong with a stop at this ultra-premium spot.
PHL: Though this lounge is on the smaller side, it packs a mighty punch. Once you're tasting award-winning Chef Michael Solomonov's hummus and Israeli salad, you definitely won't want to leave.
PHX: Amex's well-designed Phoenix outpost is sure to impress. There's plenty of space to spread out, whether you're looking to catch up on emails or watch the latest season of your favorite show. The best part? There's an auxiliary room that's opened during peak times to alleviate overcrowding.
SFO: True to its Northern California roots, this lounge has a glass wine cellar — an ode to the region’s many award-winning vineyards in nearby Napa and Sonoma counties. You can spend your time sampling one of the 18 sommelier picks, or you can kick back in one of the relaxation areas. Plus, with a planned expansion opening in late 2022, the lounge will soon have plenty of space for your entire party.
SEA: The food is great, and the drink selection is top-notch. Finding a seat, however, can be a challenge, especially during peak times. Fortunately, help is on the way — Amex is building a brand-new replacement that's triple the existing size.
DEN: As Amex's newest lounge, this space is thoughtfully designed in the shape of a horseshoe, with plenty of nooks for some R&R before your flight. Don't forget to check out the game room, with full-sized pool tables and Connect Four, as well as a craft beer bar.
JFK: Shh, it's a secret, but there's a hidden speakeasy located in the Centurion Lounge at New York/JFK. Aside from the speakeasy, there are two main bars, buffets and self-serve drink stations — one on each of the lounge's two levels. As if that wasn't enough, you'll also find a Body Lab by Equinox and other premium amenities in Amex's flagship lounge.
LGA: Amex just opened a brand-new Centurion Lounge location in New York's LaGuardia airport. Unlike its predecessor, this lounge is located past security, in the airport's newest terminal. Inside you'll find a well stocked bar, chef-inspired food and a ton of new seating options, including a study room designed in partnership with McNally Jackson.
