Junior Achievement’s mission is to inspire and prepare young people to succeed. The inspiration piece comes from community volunteers who not only deliver our lessons, but share their experience. In the process, these volunteers serve as role models helping to positively impact young people’s perceptions about the importance of education, as well as critical life skills.

Help fight hunger and break bread with your neighbor. The Los Angeles Regional Food Bank provides meals to charities across the L.A. area. Volunteer to help sort food distribution while the need for food is high across the county.

Reading helps to inspire a better world. The Los Angeles Public Library has dozens of branches across Los Angeles County that provide not only great books but also programs to inspire people to read and write. Head over to the website to find opportunities to support your local library from home.

Provide care and comfort to those in need at the Los Angeles Medical Center. Volunteer as a greeter or as care partner on one of the nursing units. It’s a wonderful way to help make a hospital stay more comfortable for patients and their family.

The American Red Cross is there where they are needed most. Donate blood, be trained as a disaster-preparedness volunteer, help families recover from home fires, or support our armed forces. There are many ways to provide support to the mission of the American Red Cross.

Volunteer to give free lessons in the arts and athletics to children impacted by chronic illness, ages 5-18.

Chrysalis is a nonprofit dedicated to creating a pathway to self-sufficiency for homeless and low-income individuals by providing the resources and support needed to find and retain employment. As a Chrysalis volunteer, you will work directly with our clients, helping them prepare for, find, and retain employment.

Young Storytellers highlight young people as the center of their own narratives, emphasize that their stories matter, and celebrate their unique voices as the ones telling them. They're looking for mentors, actors, and creative professionals to help meet their mission.

Little Tokyo Service Center (LTSC) provides services to communities in need, including culturally/linguistically appropriate services to the Japanese American community in the Greater LA area, multi-family affordable housing projects throughout Los Angeles, and equitable development and cultural preservation in the Little Tokyo neighborhood. Volunteer opportunities range from one-time event help to providing ongoing support for various programs.
