Since joining Real Salt Lake in 2022, midfielder Diego Luna has called Utah home. Here's where the MLS rising star goes to shop, eat, and golf around town.
Less“When family comes to town for special occasions, we go to Slackwater. It’s a nice little place. You can have a bigger group here, so we go and just vibe. The food’s great, and it’s just a good place to be loud, to talk. We love their spicy marinara. Their pizzas are great, and I like the Tree Hugger sandwich.”
“Mar | Muntanya is in the Hyatt Regency in downtown. It’s an amazing Spanish restaurant. Every time I go, I get the Txistorra [a reddish, cured sausage from northern Spain] plate. It’s really good.”
“I used to live in Draper, and I loved La Barba Coffee right there. I went there a lot.”
“I used to work at Dutch Bros, mainly the one in Sandy in front of Planet Fitness. I was there working all the time, and it was cool.”
“I like shopping, and Scheels is an amazing store. They’ve always got new things, and you can find anything you want there. It’s awesome. When family comes into town, we always hit Scheels. I bought an ice bath and an ice chiller from Scheels. That one’s pretty cool; it’s like an ice tub.”
“The malls are really nice here in Utah. We’ve got City Creek Center, which is nice to walk around. It gives you outside vibes, but also with AC. They’ve got Louis Vuitton, Nordstrom, and a bunch of other stores that are more rare. I’ve bought sneakers from Louis Vuitton here and some colognes.”
“The Fashion Place mall has Zara, and I really like Zara. I also like Doused, which is a shoe store that sells a bunch of hypebeast shoes and other cool sneakers.”
“I’ve gotten to golf a decent amount of courses. I really like South Mountain. It’s the course that I started on, and it’s very difficult, but it’s nice. The views are amazing, and there’s good weather up there.”
“I don’t really get to golf as much as I want to. It’s definitely a mental sport. It gives you the competitive nature without putting too much stress on your body. I’ve golfed here twice, and it’s a really nice course, kind of along the rocks.”
“It’s not like I go to the movies very often, but whenever there’s a good movie I want to watch, I’ll make sure I go watch it. The F1 movie was amazing; I really liked that one.”
